Emilia Romagna
Institute for Artistic, Cultural and Natural Heritage (IBC)
Set up in 1974, the Institute for Artistic, Cultural and Natural Heritage (IBC) of the Emilia- Romagna Region has been actively involved in local planning and development for the Region in its capacity as advisory body for local authorities working in the field of cultural heritage.
Its work centers around promotion, with activities connected to research, development and the restoration of historical and artistic heritage material and/or sites. This includes quality-offering activities related to the protection, enhancement and preservation of historic cores, as well as to those involving cultural, artistic and natural resources. In the field of planning, IBC is engaged in advising both the Regional Government and local authorities, and provides administrative assistance to museums and libraries run by local authorities. For close to 40 years, the Institute's participation in research projects and the enhancement and development of cultural heritage, together with its close working ties to the Regional Government and local authorities, have made it a unique organization in Italy.
