Preservation of cultural heritage of the municipality Tešanj
By implementing activities on the revival, preservation and presentation of cultural heritage, museums make a significant contribution to a better understanding of the past and the present and enrich our experience and understanding of human development. Since its foundation, the Museum of Tešanj municipality striving to revive and preserve cultural traditions and wealth. In the few last years, the museum has reached significant results: the renovation of the old city Gradina and Eminaga residence, as well as permanent and temporary exhibitions in the areas controlled by the museum including the old city Gradina.
Municipality Tešanj is rich of cultural - historical resources but they are still not known to the public and they are underutilized, especially in tourism.
With the organization of the pilot event we want to revive and preserve from oblivion pottery craft and pottery products that are typical for Tešanj region, and promote traditional food of Tešanj region. This action should contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage of the region and BiH.
The pilot action “Preservation of the cultural heritage of the municipality Tešanj“ was implemented through the four (4) groups of activities as follow:
1. Education of students in the production of traditional pottery dishes;
2. Preparing and printing of catalog regarding making traditional pottery dishes and traditional food of Tešanj region;
3. Maintaining one day-event "Day of the traditional cuisine of Tešanj region”;
4. Promotion of the project as well as the value of traditional crafts and cuisine of Tešanj region.
First activity was completed by the middle of November, as well as preparation of the Catalogue. Catalogue printed in December.
Preparation of the one day-event "Day of the traditional cuisine of Tešanj region” started by the end of November and the event held on 12th of January 2013. The Province of Pesaro-Urbino participated to the event: two chefs Daniele Bocchini and Massimo Maggioli travelled to Tešanj with fish and wine "on board" and contributed to the event with the preparation of the famous "Fano Fish Soup".
